Supplier Code of Conduct & Safety Standards Policy
This policy forms part of the Travel LYKKE Supplier Agreement. All Suppliers, their employees, contractors, guides, drivers, crew members, agents, and subcontractors must comply with these standards at all times.
Travel LYKKE reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend, reject, remove, or permanently deactivate any product, supplier account, or booking where it believes these standards have been violated.
1. Core Principles
All products offered through Travel LYKKE must:
- Prioritize traveler safety.
- Respect local communities and cultures.
- Protect the environment and wildlife.
- Comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Be marketed honestly and accurately.
- Meet reasonable standards of professionalism and service quality.
Any activity that creates unacceptable safety, legal, ethical, reputational, or operational risk may be removed without prior notice.
2. Legal Compliance
Suppliers must:
- Maintain all licenses, permits, registrations, approvals, and certifications required by applicable law.
- Operate only in jurisdictions where the activity is legally permitted.
- Maintain all legally required insurance policies.
- Comply with consumer protection, transportation, tourism, labor, environmental, tax, and health and safety laws.
- Cooperate with government authorities and regulatory investigations when required.
Travel LYKKE may request documentary proof of compliance at any time.
3. Safety Requirements
Supplier shall take all reasonable steps necessary to protect:
- Travelers
- Employees
- Contractors
- Local communities
- Wildlife
- Property
Suppliers must:
- Conduct risk assessments where appropriate.
- Maintain written emergency procedures.
- Provide suitable safety briefings.
- Clearly communicate all known risks and hazards before participation.
- Obtain waivers and acknowledgements where legally required.
- Ensure equipment is maintained and fit for purpose.
- Ensure guides and staff possess necessary training and certifications.
Travel LYKKE may suspend any activity presenting a material safety concern.
4. Medical, Alcohol and Drug Policies
Suppliers must refuse participation where a traveler:
- Appears intoxicated by alcohol.
- Appears impaired by illegal drugs.
- Fails to meet mandatory health, fitness, age, or safety requirements.
- Does not possess legally required licenses or permits for participation.
Suppliers may not permit any employee, guide, driver, pilot, captain, or crew member to perform duties while impaired by alcohol, drugs, or any substance affecting safe operation.
5. Labor and Human Rights Standards
Suppliers shall comply with internationally recognized human rights principles.
The following are strictly prohibited:
- Forced labor
- Modern slavery
- Human trafficking
- Child labor
- Physical abuse
- Harassment
- Discrimination
- Unsafe working conditions
No person may be employed below the minimum legal working age applicable in the jurisdiction where services are provided.
6. Environmental Responsibility
Suppliers shall take reasonable measures to:
- Minimize environmental impact.
- Reduce waste.
- Protect natural habitats.
- Prevent pollution.
- Respect protected areas and conservation regulations.
Activities involving environmental destruction, poaching, illegal hunting, illegal fishing, habitat destruction, or wildlife exploitation are prohibited.
7. Animal Welfare Standards
Travel LYKKE is committed to responsible wildlife tourism.
The following are prohibited:
- Activities involving endangered species exploitation.
- Hunting or killing protected species.
- Captive wildlife performances primarily intended for entertainment.
- Activities involving abuse, neglect, distress, cruelty, or mistreatment of animals.
- Direct physical interaction with wild animals where such interaction may cause stress, harm, or unnatural behavior.
Travel LYKKE may prohibit additional animal-related activities at its discretion.
8. Vehicle Safety Requirements
All vehicles used in connection with Products must:
- Be legally registered.
- Be insured as required by law.
- Be maintained in safe operating condition.
- Undergo required inspections.
- Carry required safety equipment.
Drivers must:
- Hold valid licenses.
- Meet local legal requirements.
- Follow all traffic regulations.
- Not use mobile devices while operating a vehicle except through legally permitted hands-free systems.
- Not operate vehicles while impaired.
Seat belts must be available and functional where required.
9. Water-Based Activities
Operators of boats, yachts, ferries, rafts, jet skis, diving vessels, and other watercraft must:
- Maintain all legally required registrations and certifications.
- Carry appropriate insurance.
- Maintain navigational and communication equipment.
- Conduct regular safety inspections.
- Provide safety briefings before departure.
- Carry life jackets and emergency equipment appropriate to the activity.
Personnel responsible for water safety must possess relevant lifesaving, rescue, or maritime certifications where required by law.
10. Aviation Activities
Operators offering helicopter tours, scenic flights, hot-air balloon rides, paragliding, skydiving, or similar activities must:
- Comply with all aviation authority requirements.
- Maintain valid operator certifications.
- Carry appropriate insurance.
- Employ properly licensed pilots and crew.
- Conduct mandatory safety briefings.
- Clearly disclose risks associated with participation.
11. Community-Based Experiences
Experiences involving:
- Indigenous communities
- Rural communities
- Economically disadvantaged communities
- Vulnerable populations
- Children under 18 years of age
must be conducted respectfully and responsibly.
Suppliers must:
- Ensure participation benefits the community.
- Obtain all necessary permissions.
- Respect privacy and dignity.
- Avoid exploitative representations.
- Use culturally appropriate marketing materials.
The use of poverty, hardship, or vulnerable persons primarily as a tourist attraction is prohibited.
12. Sexual Content and Adult-Oriented Experiences
Experiences involving adult themes, red-light districts, sexuality-related history, or similar content must:
- Be lawful.
- Be respectful.
- Be educational, cultural, or historical in nature.
Travel LYKKE may reject any activity deemed exploitative, offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate.
13. Dark Tourism and Sensitive Historical Experiences
Experiences connected to:
- Wars
- Genocide
- Terrorism
- Human rights abuses
- Disasters
- Human suffering
must be presented respectfully and factually.
The following are prohibited:
- Glorification of violence.
- Celebration of atrocities.
- Hate speech.
- Political propaganda.
- Recruitment activities.
- Fundraising linked to extremist or political causes.
- Misleading historical narratives.
Travel LYKKE reserves the right to review and approve such activities before publication.
14. Prohibited Activities
The following activities are prohibited on the Travel LYKKE platform:
- Illegal activities of any kind.
- Human trafficking or exploitation.
- Drug-related tourism.
- Gambling activities where prohibited by law.
- Activities promoting violence or hatred.
- Dangerous activities lacking adequate safety controls.
- Activities involving animal cruelty.
- Activities encouraging self-harm.
- Fraudulent or misleading experiences.
- Activities that damage Travel LYKKE’s reputation.
15. Reporting Obligations
Suppliers must immediately notify Travel LYKKE of:
- Serious injuries.
- Deaths.
- Missing persons.
- Criminal investigations.
- Regulatory actions.
- Major accidents.
- Public safety incidents.
- Significant customer complaints involving safety.
Failure to report such incidents may result in immediate termination.
16. Audits and Compliance Reviews
Travel LYKKE may request documentation, certifications, licenses, insurance records, safety procedures, incident reports, or other evidence of compliance at any time.
Travel LYKKE may conduct audits or reviews of Suppliers and Products.
Failure to cooperate may result in suspension or termination.
17. Enforcement
Travel LYKKE may, at its sole discretion:
- Issue warnings.
- Require corrective action.
- Suspend individual products.
- Suspend supplier accounts.
- Remove listings.
- Cancel bookings.
- Issue customer refunds.
- Permanently terminate supplier relationships.
Travel LYKKE’s decision regarding compliance with this policy shall be final.
